Cultural and social integration initiatives between Poland and Ukraine have been held in Opole. An initial project, ‘Youth in Dialogue of Cultures – Actively, Together, Without Exclusion’, organized by the ‘Piastun’ Foundation for Children and Youth, brought together 35 young people with hearing impairments from the Opole region and the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of Ukraine. The program utilized ~~workshops~~ workshops, excursions, and ~~excursions~~ artistic activities to facilitate communication despite differences between Polish and Ukrainian sign languages. During a visit to the Marshal's Office of the Opole Voivodeship, Vice-Marshal Zuzanna Donath-Kasiura highlighted the importance of providing a peaceful environment for Ukrainian youth to develop away from the realities of war. Following this, the Poland-Ukraine Culture Union 2026 was launched, running from August 23 to September 17. Organized by the Opole Branch of the Association for Cooperation Poland-East, this initiative focuses on intercultural integration through art, music, literature, and ~~film.~~ film rather than formal conference formats. Recent activities included an illustration exhibition by Lviv-born artist Natalia Nosova ~~and~~ at the ŻAR Art House, art workshops, ~~with future~~ and outdoor cinema at the Provincial Public Library.
