The Polish automotive and machinery markets have shown varied growth patterns through late 2026. In the vehicle rental and fleet management (CFM) sector, units grew by 12.4% year-on-year to 261,000 by mid-2026. While the broader market saw record registrations in 2025, structural shifts continue. The gap between new car sales and used imports is narrowing, with the ratio dropping from 2.7 in 2009 to 1.4 in 2025. By August 2026, the agricultural machinery sector faced a notable downturn. New tractor registrations for the year through August fell 22% compared to 2025. Specifically, August saw only 630 new tractor registrations, a decrease of 280 units compared to the same period in the previous year. In the tractor market, John Deere led August with 100 registrations, followed closely by New Holland with 97. In the used tractor market, registrations between January and August 2026 totaled 13,067, a 12% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. According to the Polish Chamber of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment, 94.1% of these used machines were imported, while only 5.9% were domestic. The market is characterized by older machinery; over 53% of registered used tractors were more than 20 years old, and 85.7% were at least 10 years old. In the passenger car segment, August 2026 saw 45,909 new registrations. While this was an 18.3% decrease from July 2026, it remained 8.1% higher than August 2025. Toyota maintained market leadership, with the Toyota Corolla being the most popular model at 2,030 registrations. Other high-performing models included the Kia Sportage and Skoda Octavia, both exceeding 1,000 registrations. Additionally, Chinese automotive brands are rapidly expanding their presence. In July 2026, Chinese brands accounted for 15.5% of new car registrations, a significant increase from their 2025 average of 8.2%. Reports indicate that 59% of Polish companies are now open to considering Chinese brands for their fleets, with brands such as MG, BYD, Jaecoo, Omoda, and Leapmotor driving this volume.
