The Polish Cup tournament progressed through regional rounds and the first round of the main competition. In the regional stages, Guzikówka Krosno advanced after a 4-2 comeback victory against Piastovia Miejsce Piastowe, while Rzekunianka Rzekuń secured a 10-0 win over Orz Goworowo. Moving into the first round of the STS Polish Cup, second-division Znicz Pruszków caused a major upset by eliminating Ekstraklasa side Cracovia. Despite being the heavy favorites, Cracovia struggled to control the match. After Ajdin Hasić scored in the 81st minute, Znicz equalized via a stoppage-time penalty from Tymon Proczek. Following a 1-1 draw after extra time, the match went to a penalty shootout where 17-year-old goalkeeper Norbert Gzowski saved three penalties, including the decisive shot from Mohamed Berte, to secure a 4-3 victory. Cracovia is the fourth Ekstraklasa team to be eliminated in this round, joining Legia Warszawa, Wisła Kraków, and Zagłębie Lubin.
