The Polish Cup tournament has seen several notable results as teams advance to the round of 16. In one match, third-division side Siarka Tarnobrzeg defeated the reigning champions, Lech Poznań, with a 1-0 score. Siarka Tarnobrzeg secured the win via a 64th-minute goal by Arkadiusz ~~Kasia.~~ Kasia, who scored with a header from a Bruno Wacławek corner. Lech Poznań played much of the ~~second half~~ match with ten men following a red card to Yannick Agnero, who received a second yellow card in first-half stoppage time, but they could not overcome Siarka’s defense. This victory follows Siarka Tarnobrzeg’s previous elimination of Zagłębie Lubin, and the club now advances to the 1/8 finals. This result contributes to a broader trend of upsets in the current season, where a significant number of Ekstraklasa teams have been eliminated before the round of 16. In another fixture, Stal Rzeszów overcame Arka Gdynia to progress to the 1/8 finals. Despite an early lead by Arka Gdynia’s Michał Milewski, Stal Rzeszów achieved a comeback through substitute Aleksander Buksa, who scored twice in the 77th and 81st minutes.
