Polish higher education recruitment recruitment, rankings, and rankings rising-lج
Higher education in Poland is characterized by ongoing institutional recruitment processes and new academic assessments. Institutions such as Uczelnia Łukaszewski and the Eastern European Academy of Applied Sciences (WANS) have implemented various enrollment methods, including year-round admissions and online systems for diverse degree programs. The 26th Perspektywy Higher Education Ranking for 2025 has been released, utilizing 31 indicators across seven criteria—such as academic prestige, scientific potential, innovation, teaching efficiency, and graduate employability—to provide a data-driven comparison. For the first time, the assessment includes a specific ranking for vocational universities, combining both public and non-public institutions to offer a more comprehensive view of the landscape. As the 2026/2027 academic year approaches, regional data shows shifting enrollment and housing trends. In the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, the Central Statistical Office reported a 2.5 percent increase in students during the previous year, with over 58,000 students across 17 institutions. Bydgoszcz and Toruń serve as primary hubs, with Nicolaus Copernicus University hosting more than 18,000 students. The regional student population is 63 percent female, and popular fields include business, administration, and law. Additionally, over 3,000 international students from 83 countries, primarily from Ukraine, were enrolled. In Szczecin, universities have prepared approximately 5,200 dormitory places, though high demand has resulted in many students being placed on waiting lists. Monthly accommodation fees range from 600 PLN to 1,100 PLN. Meanwhile, educational experts continue to advise students on international applications, emphasizing that successful candidates must prepare language proficiency exams, personal statements, and CVs to present a “holistic candidate profile.” Recent data indicates that student living costs have risen sharply.
