Healthcare facilities in Poland are undergoing significant infrastructure and capacity improvements, largely supported by the National Recovery Plan. In Starachowice, the local hospital is expanding its Long-term Care Facility (ZOL) by converting a former laundry building into a new ward. This project, costing over 24.2 million PLN, aims to nearly double capacity to 90 patients by adding 50 beds and modern amenities such as a rehabilitation hall and psychotherapy office. Funding includes 20 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan and 600,000 PLN from the Starachowice municipality. The ward is expected to be operational by mid-2025. Similarly, the SPZZOZ Powiatowy Specialist Hospital in Stalowa Wola has completed a 19.18 million PLN modernization of its cardiology departments. This investment investment, which included both approximately 17.19 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan, involved structural renovations to meet accessibility standards and the procurement of new medical equipment for cardiology clinics and clinics, hemodynamics laboratories, and electrophysiology laboratories. In Sosnowiec, the Provincial Specialist Hospital No. 5 is planning an expansion of the ‘Willa Ogrodnika’ building. The project, exceeding 12 million PLN, will increase the facility's area from 430 square meters to over 1,560 square meters by adding a modern wing. The expanded space will provide specialized services for daytime cardiology care and outpatient physiotherapy, featuring energy-efficient technologies and improved accessibility for patients with limited mobility.
