In mid-September 2026, lottery jackpots in Poland saw significant increases due to a lack of top-tier winners. Following draws on September 10, the Lotto jackpot rose to 30 million PLN after no main winner was recorded. By September 17, the Lotto jackpot had climbed further to 40 million PLN. During this period, various other games including Lotto Plus, Mini Lotto, Ekstra Premia, and Ekstra Pensja reported results, with several top prizes remaining unclaimed. On September 19, a single player won a record-breaking 44,794,855 PLN in the Polish Lotto drawing, marking the highest jackpot in the history of the game in Poland. This surpassed the previous record of approximately 36.7 million PLN set in 2017. After a 10 percent lottery tax, the winner is expected to receive approximately 40.3 million PLN. The record jackpot was attributed to changes implemented by Totalizator Sportowy in August, which increased the guaranteed first-prize pool and directed a larger portion of the total pool toward the main jackpot. These changes also included raising the price of a single bet from 3 PLN to 5 PLN. While this represents a historic win for Lotto, the largest single prize in Poland remains held by the Eurojackpot game.
