Polish police safety outreach expands to summer camps and]

Polish municipal police have continued a nationwide safety outreach campaign aimed at improving pedestrian and road safety. In June 2026, officers carried out a “Safe Pedestrian” operation in Gliwice, recording 137 traffic violations and detaining an unlicensed driver. During this period, police in Zielona Góra also hosted a school visit to educate children on police duties and safe summer behavior. During July 2026, the focus shifted to the “Safe Summer” programme. In Rumia, officers instructed nearly 100 preschoolers on road-safety rules, while in Jaworzno, police and health officials used special glasses to demonstrate the visual effects of alcohol and drugs. Later in July, the campaign reached summer camps in Bydgoszcz and Zgorzelec, featuring workshops on water and mountain safety and the “Letni przeWODNIK” art-film contest. In August 2026, outreach expanded across various demographics. In the Małopolska region, officers in Staszów taught children how to react to strangers using the “#TataTeżCzyta” storytelling campaign, while in Kraków, the Provincial Police Commander’s office organized a specialized visit for a teenager with a disability to observe forensic techniques and the Counter-Terrorist Subunit. Further community engagement occurred in the Bukowiec municipality, where Świecie District Police held a session for seniors on identifying telephone and personal fraud, alongside distributing reflective gear. In Lipno, participants from the ‘Trampolina 4’ project visited the local headquarters for facility tours, canine training displays, and prevention talks regarding safety for cyclists and scooter users. As the new school year approaches, new initiatives have been launched, including the ‘Reflective School 2026’ competition for primary schools in the Silesian Voivodeship to promote the use of reflective elements. Additionally, Siemianowice Śląskie is set to host the second ‘Safe Return to School’ picnic on September 13, 2026, featuring emergency service displays and charitable collections.
