The Polish volleyball season features various high-level competitions across both men’s and women’s leagues. In the men’s circuit, PGE Projekt Warszawa won the fifth edition of the Bogdanka Volley Cup, defeating Bogdanka LUK Lublin 3:1 in the final held at the Globus hall. The tournament included international participants such as Fenerbahçe Istanbul and ACH Volley Ljubljana, with the latter securing third place. A notable event was the unofficial debut of Japanese star Ran Takahashi for Bogdanka LUK Lublin. Jan Firlej was named the tournament MVP. In the men’s Super Cup, Bogdanka LUK Lublin secured the 2026 AL-KO Polish Volleyball Super Cup in Częstochowa with a 3-0 victory over Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. The opening set was highly competitive, lasting 40 minutes and ending 34-32 in favor of Lublin. They followed this with 25-20 and 25-18 wins in the subsequent sets. This victory marks the second consecutive year the club has claimed the trophy. Wilfredo Leon and Mateusz Malinowski each scored 16 points, while Ran Takahashi added 15. Captain and setter Marcin Komenda was named match MVP. For Zawiercie, Tomasz Fornal led the scoring with 12 points. In the women’s circuit, KS DevelopRes Rzeszów secured the first trophy of the season by winning the 2026 AL-KO Polish Women’s Volleyball Super Cup. In a match held in Częstochowa, Rzeszów defeated the reigning champion PGE Budowlani Łódź 3-0. Rzeszów took the first set 25:19 behind strong serving from Alicja Grabka, who had recently transferred from Łódź to Rzeszów. After a competitive second set where Łódź forced a tie-break, Rzeszów prevailed 29:27, before closing the match with an 18:25 win in the third set. The AL-KO Polish Women's Volleyball Super Cup in Częstochowa utilizes a format where women's matches are held on Saturday and men's matches on Sunday. The event serves as a test for national team players under Lavarini, with PGE Budowlani Łódź previously seeking a triple crown after winning the Polish Cup and the TAURON Women's League.
