Polish technology and innovation funding initiatives

Overview

Poland is implementing various financial initiatives to bolster its technology and innovation sectors.

In mid-August, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) invested €30 million into a venture capital fund managed by Inovo.vc. This transaction was part of the Future Tech Poland (FTP) initiative, which has allocated approximately PLN 580 million to date to strengthen the local venture capital ecosystem and support high-growth technology companies.

Following this, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) launched the second call for applications under the INNOSTART program. With a budget of nearly 60 million PLN, this program targets micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have not previously utilized EU resources for research and development (R&D). The initiative provides grants of up to 320,000 PLN to help businesses build internal R&D competencies and transition ideas into practical innovations.
