The Socialist Group (PSOE) in the Valladolid Provincial Council has accused the local government of political censorship following the suspension of an art exhibition titled ‘La otra transición vallisoletana’ by artist Íñigo Varona.

The exhibition, intended to explore the Spanish Transition through local social and neighborhood movements, was scheduled to open at the Palacio de Pimentel. However, the PSOE claims the People's Party (PP) administration suspended the inauguration for ideological reasons. The artist reported being pressured to remove sections of the exhibition catalog under threat of cancellation; after refusing, the event was halted.

Francisco Ferreira, the PSOE spokesperson, characterized the incident as “prior censorship,” asserting that the exhibition had already satisfied all technical and cultural requirements and that the decision to suspend it was purely political.
