The AfD’s second constructive vote of no confidence against Minister President Mario Voigt has failed in the Thuringian Landtag. Led by Björn Höcke, the motion cited the revocation of Voigt’s doctoral title by the Technical University of Chemnitz as a primary reason for the loss of trust. The motion fell short of the 45 votes required by the Thuringian constitution to elect a successor. Björn Höcke received 33 votes, while the final tally included 49 negative votes, three abstentions, and two invalid votes. Given that the AfD holds 32 seats in the Landtag, the result indicates that at least one member from another party voted for Höcke. Political leaders from the CDU, SPD, BSW, and Die Linke criticized the motion.
