Recent developments show the video remains pinned to Hanson’s social media profile, repeatedly labeling the Liberal frontbencher a “traitor.” This has drawn condemnation from Defence Minister Richard Marles, who described the content as “utterly tasteless,” and RSL Australia, which stated that branding a former soldier a traitor constitutes an attack on the entire veteran community. Senator Hanson has refused to remove the video, dismissing the backlash as “making a mountain out of a molehill” and maintaining its satirical nature. The dispute reflects broader tensions between the Coalition and One Nation as the latter attempts to expand its influence in regional electorates.
