Political tensions in Budva have manifested through both physical vandalism and public disputes regarding administrative appointments. In early September, the offices of the opposition group ‘Pokret za Grad’ were vandalized after a stone was thrown through a window. Group leader Đorđe Zenović reported the incident to police, requesting an investigation into the motive and the identity of the perpetrator. Following this, the political group ‘Budva naš grad’ challenged Krsto Radović, leader of the Budva Democrats, regarding his role as Executive Director of the Regional Waterworks. The group alleged that Radović failed to meet legal requirements for the position according to a Ministry of Labour ruling, claiming he was reappointed through legal maneuvers despite being dismissed by the Board of Directors on December 31, 2025. On September 16, the dispute intensified as Mayor Nikola Jovanović joined ‘Budva naš grad’ in challenging Radović. Critics have raised further questions regarding the timing of his diploma recognition and his previous ties to the DPS, maintaining that his appointment violates labor inspection and Ministry of Labor standards.
