In late July 2026 the company announced the purchase of 30 electric terminal tractors from Terberg (Malaysia) and five electric reach stackers from Kalmar (China) for roughly R$ 61 million, part of a broader R$ 2 billion modernisation plan. The same period saw Kalmar, alongside the final recent delivery of seven electric rubber‑tyred gantry (e‑RTG) cranes, bringing the electric fleet to 14 units and supporting a capacity increase to 2 million TEU per year. The ordered reach stackers and tractors are slated scheduled for phased delivery, with full operational status expected by January 2027. A 2027, and a dedicated charging centre with nine chargers will be installed installed. Kalmar confirmed the five‑unit reach‑stacker order for the Navegantes terminal, with delivery slated for the fourth quarter of 2026, and staff highlighted that the machines will receive battery‑management training. provide zero‑emission cargo handling while maintaining productivity. In the same announcement Kalmar and APM Terminals unveiled a strategic partnership to co‑develop the Kalmar One automation platform and an Automation‑as‑a‑Service offering, aiming to enhance safety, efficiency and reduce complexity across automated terminals. The collaboration could extend to Portonave’s operations, complementing its electric equipment programme.
