Portugal is expanding its network of centralized public service hubs to increase administrative efficiency and territorial cohesion. In Fafe, a new Loja do Cidadão is scheduled to open in a repurposed building, consolidating services such as Social Security, tax authorities, and civil registry. Similarly, plans were approved in Samora Correia to establish a service center in an existing Social Security building to streamline access for residents and businesses. Furthering this decentralization, the municipality of Barcelos inaugurated a new Espaço Cidadão in the parish of Vila Cova e ~~Feitos.~~ Feitos through a partnership with the Agência para a Modernização Administrativa (AMA). Mayor Mário Constantino Lopes emphasized that the decentralization of services is vital for territorial cohesion and simplifying administrative procedures. This addition brings the ~~local~~ Barcelos municipal network to 24 service points, ~~with municipal proposals~~ and the municipality has submitted proposals to the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) to expand the network ~~even further through~~ further. In Felgueiras, the ~~Recovery~~ municipality has also expanded service access by allowing Citizen Card (Cartão de Cidadão) renewals at six different Espaços Cidadão locations, including Felgueiras, Lixa, Regilde, Longra, Airães, and ~~Resilience Plan.~~ Idães. To use this service, applicants must be at least 25 years old, appear in person, and possess a document that is either valid or has expired no more than 30 days ago.
