The National Association of Medical Students (ANEM) launched the ‘Safe&Fest’ project to address rising sexually transmitted infection (STI) rates in Portugal and Europe. Through this initiative, medical students are conducting awareness campaigns at various Portuguese summer festivals, such as FAUPfest and Sound Waves. Expanding on community health outreach, medical students from the University of Porto have launched the ‘Medicina Vai’ project in São Pedro do Sul. This initiative focuses on providing health screenings and basic life support training to local communities.
