Following cryptic digital teasers, Powderfinger has officially confirmed an 18-date national reunion tour for September and October 2027. This marks the band’s first full-scale Australian tour since disbanding in 2010. The tour, described as a “travelling rock’n’roll circus,” will utilize a custom-built, stadium-sized big top with capacities of up to 13,000 fans. The itinerary includes stops in Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne. The band intends to feature a rotating lineup of Australian support acts and has partnered with the charity Mission Australia to support people experiencing homelessness. As ticket sales approach, with pre-sales and general releases scheduled for the upcoming week, fan anticipation has been met with logistical concerns. Some longtime supporters have described the prospect of securing tickets for major shows as a “nightmare,” expressing anxiety online regarding limited venue capacities and the difficulty of the ticketing process. Following the commencement of ticket sales, the tour has already expanded from the initial 18 concerts to 26 dates, with some performances extending into November.
