Prabowo Subianto administration policy and communication

The administration of President Prabowo Subianto has focused on strengthening government communication and advisory structures. Initially, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya emerged as a key figure in proactively explaining priority agendas, such as the Free Nutritious Meal program, to prevent public misconceptions.

To formalize advisory functions, President Prabowo appointed 26 members to the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), led by Chairman Pratikno and Vice Chairman Muhammad Hatta Rajasa. Notable appointees include national figures such as M. Quraish Shihab and Sinta Nuriyah Wahid. The council also includes political commentator Rocky Gerung, who transitioned from a vocal critic to a government advisor. Addressing public scrutiny, Gerung stated he has “merely moved from outside to inside the government” and intends to maintain a critical perspective on policy.

Parallel to these appointments, the President has prioritized public outreach through the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), led by Head Syahganda Nainggolan and Deputy Head Fadli Tri Hartono. The President has instructed Bakom to utilize simpler language and foster two-way dialogue to ensure government programs and policies are clearly understood by the public.
