Premiere and ~~viewership~~ cancellation of Turkish series Mercan Köşk

The Turkish television series ‘Mercan Köşk’ premiered on the ATV network in early September 2026. A joint production by FARO and Sinehane, the drama was filmed in the Tarsus district of Mersin to utilize its historical architecture and natural landscapes, specifically the historical Hayyürnisa Mansion. The mystery-driven plot follows Cemre, who travels to Tarsus after the mysterious disappearance of her husband, Asil, on their wedding day. Her arrival disrupts the established dynamics between the Mercandağ and Hozan families, sparking conflicts involving love, revenge, and long-held secrets. A central tension develops between Cemre and Aras, a businessman managing local citrus facilities, which evolves into an “impossible romance.” Directed by Yahya Samancı, the series stars Hafsanur Sancaktutan as Cemre, Kubilay Aka as Aras, and Albanian actor Bertan Asllani as Toprak. The ensemble cast also includes Mehmet Özgür and Zeyno Eracar. Following its launch, the series achieved significant viewership success, exceeding 6 million views on YouTube. ~~As the series progressed into its fifth episode in~~ However, despite early ~~October 2026, plot developments included~~ momentum, the ~~arrival~~ production failed to achieve the viewership numbers required by network management.
