Prijedor municipal budget allocations

Overview

The city of Prijedor has implemented various municipal budget allocations to support public services and infrastructure.

In September 2026, the city allocated 4.5 million KM to support the municipal heating utility, Toplana, for the upcoming heating season. This funding includes 2.65 million KM in subsidies and 1.85 million KM in grants. According to director Duško Miletić, the subsidy was increased from an original plan of 2 million KM following a budget rebalance. The utility faces a deficit, with total needs of approximately 9 million KM against 5.12 million KM in regular revenue.

Additionally, the city has invested more than 15 million KM into the educational system over a five-year period. These investments cover infrastructure projects, such as a new kindergarten in Pećani and a sports hall in Gomjenica, as well as renovations for mechanical and electrical schools. The funding also includes nearly 900,000 KM for free textbooks, 1.4 million KM for private kindergarten subsidies, and approximately 3 million KM for scholarships and student transport.
