Prime Video has released official trailers for ‘Atraídos Pelo Destino’ (also referred to as ‘Enfrentados: Marfil’), a romantic thriller based on Mercedes Ron’s bestselling duology. Starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García, the film follows Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a Spanish businessman, and her relationship with her enigmatic bodyguard, Sebastián Moore, following a mysterious kidnapping and release. The plot transitions from New York to Spain as the characters navigate emerging threats and growing attraction. Directed by Óscar Pedraza and written by Sofía Cuenca, the production is handled by Pokeepsie Films under the executive supervision of Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang. This film marks the third stage of collaboration between Mercedes Ron and Amazon Prime Video, following the adaptations of the ‘Culpables’ and ‘Dímelo bajito’ trilogies. The film ~~is scheduled to premiere~~ premiered exclusively on Prime Video on September 9 across more than 240 countries and territories. A sequel, ‘Enfrentados: Ébano’, has already been approved. Following the release, lead actress Ester Expósito attended the film’s premiere in Madrid. For the event, she wore a pearlescent, fluid dress from the Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 collection by Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika, featuring a pleated skirt and a delicate bustier. During production, the lead actors utilized specific music to inhabit their roles. García used dark, atmospheric soundtracks from composers such as Jóhann Jóhannsson and Cliff Martínez, while Expósito focused on 1980s music. Expósito specifically requested the inclusion of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Part-Time Lover’ for a scene involving her character preparing for a date, which featured an improvised dance.
