The ‘Liria Ka Emër’ platform has organized a ‘March for Freedom’ in Prishtina, scheduled for September 12, to support former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders held in The Hague ahead of a final verdict from the Special Court. In addition to the Prishtina march, organizers Ismail Tasholli and Eliza Hoxha have announced a series of activities, including a peaceful gathering in The Hague titled ‘Natën e Pritjes’ (Night of Waiting). This event is scheduled to run from 22:00 on September 15 until 10:00 on September 16, coinciding with the expected announcement of the verdict. The gathering aims to unite the Kosovar diaspora and local citizens in a dignified demonstration. As the verdict approaches, the platform has issued a specific call to the Kosovo diaspora to gather in The Hague on September 15 and 16. This mobilization is intended to support the historical legacy of the KLA and the independence of Kosovo. The individuals facing the verdict include Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi. ‘Liria Ka Emër’ stated it has maintained continuous communication with Dutch authorities to organize the gathering. Within Kosovo, the platform is coordinating countdown initiatives across several municipalities, including Prishtina, Skenderaj, Vushtrri, Viti, and Prizren. Political and veteran responses remain divided. Bedri Hamza, chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), has announced full support for the march, calling for mobilization to protect the truth of the liberation war. Arbërie Nagavci, a deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, has emphasized the need for national unity and maturity, cautioning against the partisan appropriation of the issue while describing the Special Court as ‘unjust and detrimental to the Republic of Kosovo’.
