Pro-Palestinian demonstrations occurred in Berlin in early October 2026. An initial protest involving approximately 700 participants in the Kreuzberg district was halted by police following clashes and violations of protest restrictions. Authorities reported that officers were pushed and kicked, leading to more than ten detentions, including arrests for displaying symbols of Hamas. Days later, a larger march titled ‘United4Palestine – No Peace on Stolen Land’ took place in the Berlin government district. While organizers claimed up to 20,000 participants, police reported between 1,000 and 2,500 people, with local reporters estimating around 5,000 attendees. Approximately 1,400 police officers were deployed to monitor the event. Small groups of counter-demonstrators carrying Israeli flags also gathered during these activities. During the United4Palestine rally, which moved from the Federal Chancellery toward Alexanderplatz, protesters demanded an immediate end to the military campaign in Gaza and called for the German government to halt all political, military, and economic support for Israel, including arms deliveries. Participants used slogans such as ‘Free Palestine’ and displayed banners criticizing what they termed ‘genocide’ and ‘occupation terror.’ Police reported several detentions related to the use of unconstitutional symbols or incitement to hatred. The demonstration occurred near the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks, highlighting ongoing domestic tensions regarding Germany's foreign policy and support for Israel.
