Netflix has released a trailer for ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’, a new film directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino. Set in 1977, eight years after the events of ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’, the story follows Brad Pitt’s character, Cliff Booth, as he transitions from a stunt double to a ‘fixer’, bartender, and projectionist for Hollywood elites navigating a world of crime and violence. The cast features Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller. Quentin Tarantino has identified Fincher as his favorite director, aside from himself, praising works such as ‘Zodiac’ and ‘The Social Network’. Tarantino revealed that while he originally intended to direct the new project, the collaboration with Fincher occurred after Brad Pitt suggested the director for the role. In interviews with Empire magazine, Fincher clarified that he significantly edited Tarantino’s original 230-page script, which was described as being ‘essentially two movies’. By cutting roughly 60 pages, Fincher aimed for a final runtime of approximately two hours and 20 minutes, focusing on character relationships with a tone reminiscent of Elmore Leonard’s crime fiction. The creative process reportedly involved finding a ‘Venn diagram’ of shared interests between Fincher, Tarantino, and Pitt. Fincher has further described the project as a story about Los Angeles rather than just a story about cinema. In October 2026, Netflix released 12 new photographs from the production. Additionally, during a Q&A session at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles, Quentin Tarantino screened the first 17 minutes of the film at the TCL Chinese Theatre. The film is scheduled for an exclusive two-week worldwide IMAX theatrical release on November 25, 2026, followed by a digital debut on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
