Production details have evolved for the upcoming film connected to ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. While initially referred to as ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’, Netflix has officially announced the title as ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’. Brad Pitt will reprise his role as Cliff Booth, a Hollywood studio fixer. Set in 1977, the story takes place eight years after the original film in what is described as “a very different Hollywood”. The project may consist of standalone episodes centered on the character. Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay and serves as a producer, but he licensed the script to David Fincher because directing another story within that specific cinematic world did not provide the excitement he desired for his tenth and final film. This marks the first directorial collaboration between Fincher and Pitt in 18 years. The film follows Booth as he transitions from a stuntman to a fixer who handles complicated problems for industry figures, occasionally using methods that “cross legal boundaries”. The ensemble cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller. Timothy Olyphant is also noted to return as James Stacy. A trailer released on September 21 addresses the absence of Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Rick Dalton, with a comedic line from Booth suggesting Dalton became “too large to double”. Early reactions to the trailer have noted a “darker, more crime-oriented tone” compared to the original film, with viewers commenting on a “moody visual style”. In addition to the film, Tarantino is releasing a companion novel titled ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ through HarperCollins, scheduled for publication on December 8, 2026. The film is scheduled for an exclusive two-week global IMAX theatrical release on November 25, 2026, with a subsequent streaming release on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
