Professional and amateur golf developments in India

Recent developments in Indian golf include the conclusion of the 16th BMW Golf Cup national final at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. Anish Bhujle won the Category A title, while Vikas Mahajan secured Category B. Both players are set to represent India at the BMW Golf Cup World Final in South Africa in March 2027.

As the DP World India Championship at the Delhi Golf Club approaches, players are adjusting to the course conditions. New Zealander Ryan Fox has opted to leave his driver out of his bag, citing the narrow course and ‘brutal’ rough, noting that the layout makes risky tee shots difficult.

Indian golfer Shubhankar Sharma enters the tournament with increased confidence following a recent victory on the Indian Tour. After facing challenges with equipment changes over the past two years, Sharma has returned to his previous clubs and adjusted his setup to find more consistency. Other Indian golfers, including Saptak Talwar, Veer Ahlawat, and Yuvraj Sandhu, are also preparing for the event, which features a $4 million prize fund and international players such as Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood.
