Professional wrestler JBL industry activities

Overview

Professional wrestler JBL has been involved in various media and industry activities. In the months leading up to September 2026, WWE authorized him to make brief appearances at independent wrestling promotions. While promoters like MLW sought to develop substantial storylines or matches, JBL chose to limit his involvement to short, high-impact moments intended to generate social media attention.

In October 2026, JBL appeared on the podcast ‘Something to Wrestle’, where he discussed the legacy of Vince McMahon, describing him as a superior ‘heel’ and noting the impact of the 1997 Montreal Screwjob. During the same appearance, JBL denied allegations that he and Ron Simmons intentionally attempted to injure Buff Bagwell with a powerbomb during a 2001 SmackDown taping, maintaining that instructions were only intended to make the maneuver look effective for television.
