Taiwanese company ProLogium Technology has commenced mass production of its Generation 3.5 Lithium Ceramic Battery (LCB) at its facility in Taoyuan. These large-format 185.4 Ah cells, designed for high-power and fast-charging electric vehicle applications, have undergone third-party verification. TÜV Rheinland confirmed a gravimetric energy density of 381 Wh/kg and a volumetric energy density of 903 Wh/L, while UL Solutions verified the cells against Chinese GB/T 43568-2026 standards. The Gen 3.5 battery utilizes the proprietary Logithium architecture, combining a ceramic separator with a specialized peripheral frame structure. To ensure industrial scalability, ProLogium is designing its next generation of batteries to utilize approximately 90 percent of existing production infrastructure. Expanding its technological roadmap, ProLogium has entered into a joint testing agreement with Mercedes-Benz to evaluate its upcoming Gen4 lithium ceramic battery cells. This partnership, which dates back to 2016, grants the German automaker priority access to the technology for electrical, thermal, and safety trials conducted at Mercedes-Benz facilities and external institutes. The Gen4 cells feature a non-flammable inorganic electrolyte, a ceramic separator, and a silicon anode, designed to optimize fast charging, high power output, and performance in cold weather while balancing safety, energy density, scalable manufacturing, and cost. While the agreement does not guarantee immediate mass production or specific vehicle release dates, the companies are focusing on how the cells perform under real-world automotive conditions, including temperature fluctuations and cycle life. Mercedes-Benz, which holds a seat on the ProLogium board, also supports the company’s planned Nasdaq listing in the fourth quarter of 2026. To support large-scale production, ProLogium is planning a manufacturing plant in Dunkirk, France, with a capacity of up to 44 GWh.
