Following its release on August 21, 2026, the Telugu-language action drama ‘Irumudi’, starring Ravi Teja and directed by Shiva Nirvana, has demonstrated significant commercial momentum. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series Films, centers on Trinath, a man undergoing the 41-day Ayyappa Deeksha spiritual vow to overcome personal struggles. By its tenth day, the film reached a worldwide gross of ₹173.5 crore, including ₹68 crore from Telangana, ₹69 crore from Andhra Pradesh, ₹11.5 crore from Karnataka, ₹4.5 crore from the rest of India, and ₹20.5 crore from overseas markets. Despite competition from the film ‘Toxic’, ‘Irumudi’ maintained momentum, seeing high sales on platforms like Book My Show and strong engagement from family audiences during its second weekend. By its twelfth day, the film’s worldwide gross rose to ₹186.50 crore. On day 12, it earned a net of ₹5.90 crore in India and ₹50 lakh from overseas markets. While domestic earnings saw a 10.6% dip from the previous day, the Telugu version remains the primary revenue driver. Having already surpassed its break-even point of ₹21 crore against a production budget of approximately ₹40 crore, the film is currently trending toward the ₹200 crore milestone. By its third weekend, the film demonstrated strong box office endurance, with its total gross in India reaching approximately ₹196 crore. Momentum increased during the third weekend, specifically on Sunday, which saw a 40 percent increase in daily gross compared to Saturday. On a global scale, the film’s 17-day worldwide gross is estimated at ₹217 crore, including ₹22 crore from overseas markets and ₹15 crore from Karnataka. With the upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi holiday period, the film is now positioned to target a ₹250 crore worldwide milestone. While the film faced controversy from the Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation (APTF) regarding its portrayal of government schools, it has remained a major commercial success. Following this achievement, Ravi Teja has announced two upcoming projects: a commercial entertainer with director Hasith Goli and a subsequent project with director Vivek Athreya.
