In the Staro Nagoricane municipality, prosecutors at the Basic Court in Kumanovo sought a life sentence for Trajce Bojkovski, a former shepherd accused of four murders and two attempted murders. The prosecution characterized the defendant as a predator who targeted vulnerable elderly women, presenting DNA evidence and testimony from survivors who were attacked via strangulation. Psychiatric evaluations presented during the proceedings described Bojkovski as calculating and lacking empathy or remorse. Following the trial, the court found Bojkovski guilty of six criminal offenses committed between January 2025 and February 2026. Presiding Judge Mirsad Suroi sentenced the 26-year-old to life imprisonment, describing the crimes as exhibiting ‘extreme monstrosity’ and being driven by ‘necrophilic impulses and deviant behavior.’ The court concluded that the defendant was incapable of rehabilitation and required permanent isolation from society. Judge Mirsad Suroji further characterized the case as one of the most ‘complex and harrowing’ in the country’s recent judicial history, noting the presence of sexual deviancy toward victims after death. Prosecutor Ljubomir Lape stated that the verdict correctly reflects the gravity of the crimes. Bojkovski remains in custody pending the finality of the verdict.
