PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has demonstrated progress in sustainability and corporate restructuring during the first half of 2026. In August, the company received the ESG Award 2026 from the KEHATI Foundation for its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance principles. SIG reported significant reductions in greenhouse gas emission intensities through the use of alternative fuels, cleaner energy, and the production of green cement, noting a 21 percent reduction in Scope 1 emission intensity compared to a 2010 baseline. By September, SIG reported financial results for the first half of 2026, showing a 13.1 percent increase in total revenue to Rp 17.65 trillion, driven by a 5.6 percent rise in sales volume to 18.28 million tons. To streamline operations, SIG is undergoing a major consolidation involving two merger schemes: merging seven subsidiaries into PT Semen Indonesia Distributor (SID) and consolidating three concrete-related subsidiaries into PT Varia Usaha Beton (VUB). The company has also relaunched the Semen Kujang brand in West Java using ‘Active Micro Particle technology’. Looking toward 2027, management expressed optimism fueled by government infrastructure programs, including the construction of 3 million houses and the Giant Sea Wall project, alongside private sector demand for data centers and high-rise buildings. Strategic focuses include business model transformation, cost efficiency, and expanding non-cement products like ready-mix solutions.
