The Municipality of the Capital in San Miguel de Tucumán has announced several public health initiatives. The Zoonosis department is conducting decentralized operations to provide free sterilization, rabies vaccination, and deworming for pets. A mobile operating room is scheduled to be stationed at Plaza Carlos Gardel on Tuesday, October 13, with 25 sterilization slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the Directorate of Quality of Life has scheduled a week-long preventive fumigation program. These operations will span various neighborhoods, including Villa del Carmen, Siglo XX, Juramento, Congreso, and Mariano Moreno, running from Monday to Friday. To further combat mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya, the municipality is intensifying focal control operations and “descacharreo” (the removal of potential breeding sites) across six neighborhoods.
