Various public health initiatives focused on preventive medicine and early diagnosis have been organized across several Italian cities. In mid-October, the ‘La prevenzione tra la gente’ event in Campobasso provided over 370 free medical services, including mammographies, cervical cancer screenings, colorectal cancer kits, and Hepatitis C tests. This initiative was organized by ASReM in collaboration with the Municipality of Campobasso and the provincial LILT. Following this, scheduled events in Reggio Calabria and Naples aim to expand access to specialized care. The ‘Tour della Salute’ in Reggio Calabria features a health and sports village offering consultations in cardiology, rheumatology, dermatology, nutrition, and psychology. Meanwhile, Naples is hosting ‘Salute per Tutti’, which includes senological exams, ultrasounds, and screenings for head and neck pathology, supported by the Naples Institute of Tumors. In connection with ‘Ottobre Rosa’ (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), additional regional programs have emerged. In San Marino, the Associazione Oncologica Sammarinese donated DataBreast management software to the ISS Breast Unit to enhance clinical data analysis and patient monitoring. In Italy, the Marche region established a toll-free number for mammography screening inquiries, while Reggio Emilia’s Centro di Medicina introduced AI-powered diagnostic tools and extended radiology services. Recent developments through late October include the Pascale Institute providing free senological, thyroid, and nutritional consultations in Naples’ Piazza del Plebiscito. In Salerno, a ‘Health Village’ utilizes mobile units for gynecological, dermatological, and breast cancer screenings. To mark World Stroke Day, ASL Lecce is conducting vascular screenings, while cardiovascular awareness events are held in Bra, Piedmont, and Asti. The ‘Tour della Salute’ is also concluding its eighth edition in Reggio Calabria. Ongoing ‘Ottobre Rosa’ activities include free screenings in Frascati, awareness walks in Sulmona, and specialized information sessions in San Costanzo. Recent community-based efforts continue through late October.
