Public Power Corporation (DEI) is expanding its European presence through renewable energy acquisitions and infrastructure partnerships. The company finalized the acquisition of 17 subsidiaries from Germany’s ABO Energy, securing a portfolio in Poland consisting of solar, wind, and battery energy storage assets with a capacity of up to 1.2 GW. This acquisition includes the local development team to support DEI’s operations in the Polish market. This transaction is part of a broader strategic agreement to acquire an additional 1.1 GW of capacity in Hungary, which is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2026 following regulatory approvals. In addition to energy expansion, DEI is partnering with Amazon Web Services to develop a mega data center in Western Macedonia at the site of the former Agios Dimitrios power plant.
