The government of Puebla, under Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, continues to implement institutional support for migrants in the United States through ‘Por Amor a Puebla’ representation offices. These offices, located in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, and Los Angeles, provide services including free legal advice, consular support, visa orientation, and economic assistance. In Los Angeles, representative Sebastián Cilia Carrillo reported that 2,034 people have been assisted in 2026, following 4,783 individuals assisted since December 2024. The initiative aims to strengthen ties between migrant communities and their families in Puebla while recognizing the economic importance of remittances. To expand this reach, the state is working to consolidate services in Chicago and plans to establish a new representation in Houston. Additionally, the government seeks to leverage the Hermanos Serdán International Airport to facilitate stronger connectivity between Puebla and major U.S. cities with large migrant populations. Parallel to these international efforts, the administration is expanding domestic social and infrastructure initiatives. Through the Community Works Program, Program (Obra Comunitaria), the state plans to increase funding from 1 billion pesos in 2025 to 2 billion pesos by 2027, which 2027. This includes energy projects such as installing solar panels in 1,500 schools. schools and various road rehabilitations. Domestically, the State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF) has also conducted outreach in San Francisco Totimehuacán, providing medical services and food baskets to vulnerable families.
