The Government of Puebla has implemented various regional development initiatives focusing on agricultural support and community infrastructure. Initial efforts in the Sierra Nororiental region included an investment of over 30 million pesos. This funding targeted agricultural modernization, livestock assistance, and the distribution of maguey pulquero plants, alongside 15.5 million pesos for 75 infrastructure projects in 10 municipalities. These community works, which include roads and water networks, utilize female treasurers to manage funds. Following these efforts, the government expanded its scope through the ‘Por Amor a Puebla’ program in the Serdán region. This initiative allocated over 14 million pesos for 63 projects across 46 localities, covering schools, sports facilities, and health projects. Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier announced a significant budgetary scale-up for this program, with planned allocations of 1 billion pesos for 2025, 1.5 billion pesos for 2026, and 2 billion pesos for 2027. Recent developments under the ‘Obra Comunitaria’ program continue to support the Serdán region with investments for schools, sports facilities, and water systems. Furthermore, SEDIF Puebla has invested over 3.4 million pesos to provide medical equipment, oncological supplies, and orthopedic devices to four health units, including the General Hospital of Cholula and the General Hospital of the South.
