In July 2026 the Puglia regional government rolled out launched two successive support schemes for its agri‑food sector. On 20 July it approved a €90,000 allocation for the region’s 22 DOP/IGP consortia and launched started a free‑olive‑seedling scheme programme in Nardò to help restore replace trees damaged by Xylella fastidiosa. A week later, on 29 July, the Regional Rural Development Programme published the ranking for the “Filiere di Puglia” call, earmarking €40 million for value‑chain projects. The larger programme attracted projects; 129 applications requesting seeking €180 million in investments, covering horticulture, oil, wine, cereals were received and other food‑processing sectors, with the first 55 firms entering entered a technical‑administrative review. Both initiatives On the same day, Puglia introduced the H2O project, financed through the 2025‑2026 infrastructure equalisation fund and coordinated by Unioncamere Puglia together with Water Europe and Uniontrasporti. The initiative will collect data on water costs, supply challenges and farm needs in four pilot municipalities via a questionnaire and 200 phone interviews, with Coldiretti Puglia endorsing its data‑driven approach.
