In early July, the Punjab BJP lodged a memorandum with the state governor alleging rigging in municipal council elections and later expanded its critique to accuse the AAP government of facilitating a large‑scale leak of a Group‑B recruitment exam, demanding the resignation of health and education ministers. On 22 July, BJP state chief Keler Dhillon intensified the charge, saying the AAP had sold jobs and allowed high‑technology cheating that jeopardised the futures of nearly 100,000 candidates. He reiterated calls for the health and education ministers to step down and praised the central government's swift CBI action and the establishment of fast‑track courts. Himachal BJP chief Rajiv Bindal similarly blamed the Congress for anti‑democratic protest tactics while lauding the same central‑government response. A week later, BJP workers staged a protest outside the AAP’s Delhi headquarters, backed by heavy police deployment, demanding a CBI probe into eleven alleged exam scams in Punjab and the resignation of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal echoed the call for a CBI investigation, adding pressure on the AAP‑led state administration. On 30 July 2026 the Delhi BJP organised another demonstration outside the AAP office in New Delhi, led by Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra and attended by several BJP MPs and party workers. The protest again singled out Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, alleging leaks in the Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test, a Class 12 English board exam, a pharmacy officer recruitment exam and the Punjab Sub‑Service Selection Board recruitment test. Demonstrators demanded his immediate resignation and a fresh CBI inquiry. Police intervened, detaining participants briefly before releasing them, and a substantial police and Rapid Action Force presence was maintained around the AAP office.
