Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expanded the province's reform agenda to include new social welfare initiatives alongside existing infrastructure and sanitation mandates. Under the ‘Maryam Ko Bataye’ program, the government provides financial aid of up to Rs10,000, medical treatment support, and mobility aids, including wheelchairs, hearing aids, and electric bikes. Additionally, the administration introduced the Parwaaz Card, an interest-free financing program intended to cover visa processing, medical tests, and airfare for citizens seeking overseas employment. In terms of sanitation and labor administration, the Chief Minister has implemented stricter protocols for the Suthra Punjab Program. To ensure uninterrupted services, she mandated that all sanitation workers receive their salaries by the 5th of every month and ordered the clearance of outstanding dues to contractors. Operational improvements include the enforcement of daily road cleaning starting at 5 a.m., the requirement for uniform dustbins in commercial areas, and an emphasis on door-to-door waste collection and cleanliness around schools, hospitals, and parks. Officials have also been instructed to conduct an impact study on sewerage and drainage projects. Infrastructure efforts have expanded to include a directive for an immediate survey of unsafe and deteriorating buildings following the monsoon season. Furthermore, under continue through the Own Source Revenue (OSR) programme, the Chief Minister approved programme. Recent approvals include major road improvements in Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and Faisalabad. In Lahore, specific projects include road target roads such as Egerton, Litton, Davis, and Lawrence, involving carpeting, expansion of dual carriageways, carriageway expansion, and the installation of drainage systems and footpaths. The administration is also providing relief to families affected by river erosion installation, alongside urban beautification like artwork for the Metro track. In Sargodha, approximately Rs1 billion has been allocated for eight schemes, including the Khayam Chowk Overhead Bridge. To improve urban safety, the Chief Minister has ordered dedicated motorcycle lanes in Layyah. Lahore, camera-based digital monitoring, and stricter regulation of cargo tractor-trolleys.
