In early August 2026, Governor Dr. Engineer Hossam Abdel Fattah of Egypt’s Qalyubia Governorate convened a high-level meeting to review the region’s digital-transformation programmes. He urged rapid completion of mechanisation projects such as waste-collection automation and GPS tracking for sanitation vehicles, and pushed for the rollout of interactive e-services and an integrated digital database linking agencies. The following day, the governor chaired the 86th weekly public forum, where he examined 41 citizen complaints from the Qalyub, Al-Qanater Al-Khadimah, and Shubra Al-Kheima districts. The session produced concrete directives on job creation, housing allocations, social assistance, infrastructure repairs, and the removal of illegal structures. By mid-August, the administration expanded its focus toward broader regional development and environmental hygiene. Governor Abdel Fattah met with the Egypt Future Sustainable Development Agency to discuss expanding service projects and ensuring new developments address local needs while maintaining a cohesive visual identity. Additionally, under the ‘Clean Village’ initiative, the governor ordered intensified waste collection in rural areas, including the clearing of illegal dumpsites and debris from canal cleaning. To prevent the recurrence of waste accumulation, local authorities are tasked with transforming these cleared sites into beautified areas through landscaping and afforestation. In late August, marking the governorate’s 158th national day, Governor Abdel Fattah expanded local engagement and service accessibility. He attended a ceremony in Shubra El Kheima to honor 76 top-performing students from preparatory, secondary, and technical diploma programs. Furthermore, he inaugurated two new technological centers in the Al-Munira and Shalqan local units of the Al-Qanater Al-Khayriya district. These centers utilize automated calling systems and electronic equipment to streamline government services and reduce crowding, bringing the total number of such centers in the Al-Qanater Al-Khayriya area to five.
