QUByte Interactive announced the ‘Thunder Hoop Collection’, a modern reissue of two 1990s arcade action-platformers originally developed by Gaelco: the 1992 title Thunder Hoop and its 1994 sequel, TH Strikes Back. Initial announcements focused on a Nintendo Switch release scheduled for October 8, 2026, priced at $9.99. Subsequent details expanded the release scope to include PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. The collection features modern quality-of-life enhancements such as a rewind function, save states, and customizable CRT or tube TV graphic filters. Gameplay includes battling mutant armies in both simultaneous cooperative modes and alternating turn-based modes. Developed in partnership with Bleem!, the collection was officially released on October 8. The games follow a protagonist navigating bio-organic environments to fight mutated creatures created by Professor Daniel Genbreak. While the original title focuses on a young laboratory subject, the sequel features an adult version of the character and introduces enhanced vertical mobility and zero-gravity flight sequences.
