American rock band Queens of the Stone Age announced their ninth studio album, ‘Perfecth’, via a teaser video featuring frontman Josh Homme and Dean Fertita. The album is scheduled for release on October 30 via Matador Records. Produced by Homme and Michael Shuman, the nine-song project was recorded during sessions in New Orleans and Los Angeles. The album’s title, ‘Perfecth’, is a term coined by Homme to suggest that while nothing is truly perfect, everything appears to be ‘perfecth’. The release will be available in multiple formats, including CD, standard black vinyl, transparent vinyl, and a limited deluxe gatefold edition featuring handwritten lyrics and bespoke artwork. In a recent podcast appearance, Homme discussed his musical foundations, noting that a lack of rock guitar instructors in Palm Desert led him to study under polka musician Tom Polonsky for two years. He credited these lessons with influencing the rhythmic structure of the 2002 hit ‘No One Knows’. Following the release, the band is scheduled to continue a North American tour supporting Foo Fighters starting September 15, with subsequent shows planned for Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore in the fall.
