The municipal Secretariat of Mobility in Querétaro has expanded its traffic management plan to mitigate the impact of the Mexico‑Querétaro high‑speed rail construction. Current restrictions include avoiding Avenida Roncopollo (09:00–12:00), Avenida Circunvalación on Fridays (15:00–18:00), and the Avenida Universidad–Roncopollo connector (17:00–20:00). To manage the Bernardo Quintana corridor, where daily vehicle counts have dropped by 50% to approximately 75,000, authorities have implemented a seven-week contraflow scheme. Coordinated with the Mexican Army, this operation uses flashing signals, drone surveillance, and real-time monitoring to manage northbound lanes operating in reverse. Mayor Felipe Fernando “Felifer” Macías noted that over 170 traffic auxiliaries are deployed to maintain flow, despite average delays of 10–15 minutes for public transport. Additional adjustments have been made on Prolongación Constituyentes to alleviate congestion caused by federal roadwork on Highway 57. These include lane channeling between Pinal de Amoles Avenue and Bernardo Quintana Boulevard, as well as at the Constituyentes Avenue interchange. These measures specifically target commuters from western residential areas such as Real Solare and Ciudad Maderas. Recent updates indicate that Semov has implemented further lane channeling near Universidad Cuauhtémoc to continue mitigating congestion from the Highway 57 construction. Infrastructure concerns persist regarding the “Cuesta China” segment of Federal Highway 57. Following safety concerns from transport operators regarding insufficient space for traditional braking ramps, the municipal public-works secretary is exploring new designs. Meanwhile, the free community-transport system has recorded over two million rides since March 2025, with significant usage in Santa Rosa Jáuregui and Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Regarding As the broader regional rail development, the Querétaro-Irapuato passenger train project advances, the Querétaro Government announced that construction will soon begin on Calle Invierno in the Historic Center. While work on Calle Invierno is designed as a 108.2-kilometer double-track railway capable of speeds up imminent, the construction date for the “La Corregidora” station remains undetermined and depends on coordination with federal authorities. Currently, 28 complementary works related to 200 kilometers per hour. The line will include stations the railway have been approved across the state, with two additional interventions in Querétaro, Apaseo el Grande, Celaya, Villagrán/Cortázar, Salamanca, San Juan del Río and Irapuato.
