The dispute between InPost founder Rafał Brzoska and Meta has escalated into formal regulatory action. He noted that 41% of such content is missing from Meta's Ad Library, describing the current oversight as a ‘fiction.’ Brzoska and the ‘150%’ initiative are now calling for legal changes to hold platforms financially liable for 150% of revenue gained from fraudulent content and are advocating for mandatory advertiser verification. Simultaneously, the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) has appealed for the implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA) to combat deepfakes and illegal content. Brzoska has also expanded his criticism to Meta’s tax contributions, noting that Facebook Poland paid only 0.55% of its revenue in corporate income tax, compared to 6.9% paid by InPost. In response, Polish politicians are discussing measures to force large tech firms to pay fairer taxes, with Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz advocating for a digital tax to ensure equitable contributions to the local economy. Recent developments show Brzoska targeting YouTube scammers who use fake celebrity death reports to spread fabricated stories.
