Rai summer programming expands in early August 2026

Rai’s summer slate continued to broaden in the first week of August 2026. On 1 August the travel series “Vista Mare” returned for a second episode, this time hosted by Federico Quaranta and Diletta Acanfora, and highlighted Molise’s coastal villages, local traditions, scientific research and emerging technologies. The same day “UnoMattina Weekly” rebroadcast astronaut Luca Parmitano’s interview, in which he detailed his training, Italy’s contributions to the Orion service module and the broader goals of NASA’s Artemis III lunar mission.

Rai 3 aired the 2 August episode of the documentary series “Che ci faccio qui”, with journalist Domenico Iannacone presenting intimate stories that explored human fragility, the mind, life and death. Rai Movie showed the classic film “Dirty Dancing – Balli proibiti” at 21:10.

The quiz show “L’Eredità Summer” (31 July – 1 August) concluded with contestant Giulio from Brugherio winning the final “Ghigliottina” round, spending €38 250 on a sixth clue before correctly guessing the word “stella”. A literary event, “Dialoghi e pagine”, wrapped up in Rocca San Casciano, featuring local authors, book presentations and live music.

The Italian Union of Astrophiles released its August sky guide, noting a partial solar eclipse on 12 August, a partial lunar eclipse on 28 August, the Perseids meteor‑shower peak on 12‑13 August and the visibility of Venus, Saturn, Mars, Mercury and Jupiter.

These additions complemented earlier launches—including the drama “Capri”, the travel‑culture series “Vista Mare”, the talk‑show “O anche no”, the quiz “L’Eredità Summer”, and the regional series “Un’estate italiana”—and underscored Rai’s effort to offer a diverse mix of entertainment, documentary, and cultural content throughout the summer.
