The Rajasthan government has placed senior IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal on Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) following allegations of large-scale property acquisitions. Reports claim Agrawal and his family purchased approximately 40 villas and cottages from Goyal Fashions Private Limited for roughly 6.16 crore rupees, which were then reportedly leased back to the same company for significant annual income. The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has launched an investigation into allegations that Agrawal misused his official position to provide undue benefits to the private entity, including granting exemptions on resort construction conditions and securing special economic packages. The ACB is reviewing government records and financial documents to determine if there is a direct link between official decisions and the family's property acquisitions. Following Agrawal’s removal, the government has also placed his wife, IPS officer Prashakha Mathur, on APO status. Mathur, who served as Additional Director General of Police in Jaipur, has been named in the property transactions. The ACB is investigating allegations that Agrawal, Mathur, and other family members purchased properties in the Udaipur and Alwar districts at prices significantly below market value. Furthermore, investigators are examining reports that a villa in Alwar may have been omitted from Mathur’s annual immovable property returns. Authorities are currently considering the cancellation of the special economic package previously granted to Goyal Fashions Private Limited.
