A legal dispute has emerged between actor Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment regarding his departure from the film Don 3. Excel Entertainment has filed a claim for Rs 45 crore in damages, alleging that the actor’s exit near the planned shoot caused significant pre-production financial losses. Initially, the actor’s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, approached the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) to challenge the claim and present the actor’s side. However, the situation escalated when Singh’s legal team formally requested that the IMPPA refrain from intervening. The legal team has warned of potential action if the association attempts to pass a resolution, arguing that the matter is outside the association’s jurisdiction. They further contend that the relationship was governed by a Memorandum of Understanding rather than a formal agreement. This intervention led to the postponement of an IMPPA Following a meeting originally scheduled for on August 14. 18 between Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and IMPPA officials to submit documentation, IMPPA President Abhay Sinha confirmed that the association’s legal team is currently reviewing documents from both parties. While no final decision has been reached, the association intends to hold a press conference to provide further details. Singh’s representatives maintain that if the association attempts to pass a decision, the actor will pursue legal recourse through the courts.
