Real Housewives of New York City cast developments

Overview

Cast members of the Bravo reality series ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ have addressed personal developments and viewer reactions surrounding the premiere of season 16.

Newcomer Hailey Glassman revealed she is in a ‘lavender marriage’ with a businessman from Martha’s Vineyard. Glassman explained that while she is married to a man, she has intimate relationships with women, a narrative she uses to challenge societal norms and increase queer visibility. However, her mother, Lauren Glassman, has publicly disputed these claims. In a podcast clip, Lauren Glassman characterized her daughter’s portrayal of their relationship as a ‘betrayal’ and denied allegations that she encouraged Glassman’s past relationship with Jon Gosselin. Additionally, an unnamed insider alleged that Glassman’s televised accounts are inaccurate and fabricated.

Other cast members and former participants have also responded to the season's rollout. Sai de Silva discussed the difficulties of her divorce, while former cast member Brynn Whitfield addressed social media commentary following reports that some viewers found the premiere ‘boring.’

The second episode of season 16 aired on September 15, featuring storylines including a brunch hosted by Daisy for Sai, a personal emergency involving Erin, and an incident involving Carole.
