Recognition and celebrations for Monica Sarnelli

Overview

Singer Monica Sarnelli was awarded the Medaglia della Città (City Medal) by the City of Naples to honor her 45-year musical career and her 60th birthday. The award, presented at Palazzo San Giacomo by Councilor Teresa Armato on behalf of Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, recognizes her as a symbol of Neapolitan music and her work on the television series ‘Un posto al sole’. The recognition was promoted by City Councilor Maria Grazia Vitelli, who highlighted Sarnelli’s dedication to traditional music.

Following the recognition, Sarnelli announced a series of performances. This includes a celebratory concert at the Teatro Trianon Viviani in Naples on October 27, titled ‘Felicissima Festa’. Supported by the Naples Department of Tourism and Productive Activities, the event aims to honor Neapolitan song and the city's musical heritage. Admission to the concert is free, though mandatory reservations are required via Eventbrite.
